Hi There. I’m Hannah Hayes, and welcome to Kitchen Oddity, where food comes with a side of humor.
Since I was a towheaded 2 year old eating broccoli off a divided plate in my elastic-waist jeans, I’ve always loved food. My mama’s blueberry pie, a rarer than rare steak, a wedge of stinky cheese, fried chicken thighs, tomatoes from the backyard, roasted oysters, ropa vieja, banana pudding — this, to me, is the stuff of life.
I grew up mostly in the Midwest, but now I live in Savannah, Georgia and work as a freelancer, which is pretty much a modern-day cowboy according to Liz Lemon.
I hope you enjoy reading my food adventures which may also include, but are not limited to, topics like Dolly Parton, road tripping through rural Alabama, 30Rock, dishes, David Bowie, whiskey, the Golden Girls, banjos, more dishes and the ill-fated attempts to enter state fair contests.
Feel free to e-mail me at hayes.hannahm@gmail.com.
My photos come from the magical innards of my Canon 50D, unless otherwise noted.
